Octave Fuzz for Bass and Beyond

Inspired by the responsive EHX x JHS Lizard Queen, the Lizard King from Electro-Harmonix is an analog octave fuzz and distortion pedal for bass guitars. Featuring bass-optimized Tone control and a Blend knob for mixing octave/fuzz and clean tones, the Lizard Queen is a versatile and powerful tool for thickening up bass tones.

The Octave knob controls the intensity of the octave effect, which adds a retro-style higher octave to your signal for more high frequencies. The Tone knob can be used to roll off high frequencies for a smooth fuzz sound. With the Sun/Shadow toggle switch, you can further enhance your tone. True bypass is built in, ensuring a pure tone free from high-frequency tone suck when bypassed. The Lizard Queen supports either 9V battery power (battery included) or 9 VDC power adapter input (power adapter sold separately).

Shape your ultimate fuzz or distortion tone for your bass with four intuitive controls:

• Volume: This knob sets the overall output volume of your signal.
• Octave: This controls the intensity of the octave effect. Turn clockwise for more octave, or turn counterclockwise for a deeper sound.
• Blend: With Blend, you can mix the fuzz/octave and clean signals for maintaining the attack and low-end response of bass instruments and allowing for more harmonic detail for guitars or other chord-based instruments. Fully counterclockwise offers a clean tone, while clockwise adds more fuzz tone to the mix.
• Tone: The Tone knob controls the high frequencies of the pedal. Fully clockwise provides a wide open tone, passing the full fuzz tone through. When turned counterclockwise, the high frequencies are rolled off.

The Sun/Shadow switch further enhances the tone of the octave fuzz and clean tones. With Sun switched on, the octave fuzz gets a boost with a more driving midrange response, and the clean tone accessed by the Blend knob has more treble and bass frequencies on hand. With Shadow switched on, the clean tone is unchanged and the fuzz tone is tighter.
