Designed for creative professionals, the Pegasus32 R6 24TB 6-Bay Thunderbolt 3 / USB 3.2 Gen 2 RAID Array delivers the speed, capacity, and protection needed for large projects and backups. Featuring six drive bays equipped with hot-swappable 4TB 7200 rpm hard drives, the 24TB array has a maximum data throughput of 2,700 MB/s. Its hardware-based controller supports RAID 0, 1, 1E, 5, 6, 10, 50 configurations, and the fan-cooled drives are pre-configured for RAID 5. Devices connect to its two Thunderbolt 3 ports, which can transfer data to compatible computers at up to 40 Gb/s, or up to 10 Gb/s when connected to USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-C devices. The ports support daisy chaining and deliver up to 85W of power to compatible laptops. There is also a DisplayPort 1.4 connector that supports 7680 x 4320 resolution 8K displays for large and highly detailed projects. The drives come pre-formatted for MacOS 10.14, but can be reformatted for Windows 10.

Great and fast raid array for Thunderbolt 3
I recommend a Raid 6 option for greater reliability long term. This device has been going strong for a number of years with 24/7 continuous use. It's fast and super simple to use, I've been using with an iMac 27 and have a second monitor daisy chained off the TB port. I highly recommend! In my case the array has been about 50% capacity. I would buy this again!
Beware AMD Processor users!!
I spent 2 months working with support, troubleshooting back and forth, returned my unit, got a new one to extend the return, and worked with them even more. After all of that it came out from support that although, my threadripper workstation meets specs, they are having issue with AMD chipsets... If you are intel only it works like a dream...but they should mention intel only for PC users until they figure this out. Please do not waste your time!

This is the most expensive pain in the a** piece of equipment I own. It has been nothing but hassle since I unboxed it and Promise support is incredibly slow and unhelpful. 3 months in and I still haven't been able to solve the technical issue that arose within the first week of ownership. Go with another company that has support based in the US and doesn't require waiting for time zone differences to help you out.
Excellent Speed
It's great so far! Works as expected. I am using this with two Windows 10 editing computers. Please note that all of the storage space is not usable for two reasons. The way Windows file structures work and the use of RAID 5. With the 60TB version, I have a little over 45TB of useable space. This is not specific to the Pegasus32 and I don't consider it a downside at all since I expected this would be the case. But if you are shopping for this product, you probably already know this information. To use this in Windows 10, I had to open up the Disk Manager, delete the volume, and create a new simple NTFS volume. Without this step, the Pegasus was not recognized by Windows. This was also expected, since most of the other storage I have bought has required the same process. The synchronization process took around 2 days, but I was still able to use the Pegasus during that time. I have yet to test the 40 Gbps speed, because I am currently using a 10 Gbps port on both computers. Once I get the Intel i9 7920x to replace my i7 6700k, I can get a Thunderbolt 3 card to test the full capabilities of the Pegasus 32. I will post the update here. Also, in case any of you reading this intend to replace or swap out any of the harddrives, an associate of mine who has owned many RAID arrays in his 50 years of experience recommends using drives that are the same capacity and preferably the same model as the Toshibas that come with the Pegasus. He has run into problems when using other capacity drives in Pegasus RAID arrays than what it comes with originally. He says it is most likely something in the firmware. On another note, the 1 day shipping was great. They said it would arrive by 10:30am, and it arrived on the dot all the way down in South Florida. Overall, it works great and I would recommend this product.
Excellent
If you want lots of FAST storage with redundancy and lots of flexibility this is it. Its connection capability matches the latest fastest workstations (thunderbolt 3) and.. a secret.. if you still have a thunderbolt 2 host or other thunderbolt2 pegasus units, you can use an adapter which works great! The out of the box configuration of raid 5 ready to go is the mode of choice. However, with the Promise Utility, you can configure, maintain, check, etc all kinds of stuff if you know what you're doing! Love it.
I regret this purchase - way too loud
They really screwed up the 32 edition with the controller. It runs hot all the time, so much so that the fan has to run at 2700 rpm just to keep it cool enough. I have a Pegasus2 sitting right next to my 32 and it runs at 1200 rpm. I had Promise RMA replace my 32 once already because of this issue and the replacement does the same thing. Fan runs nearly full speed in a 70 F degree office. For the amount of money spent they should have better designed the cooling or stuck with the old controller. Wish I had bought another Pegasus2 over this leaf blower.
