LTC2858HMS-2#PBF is a full duplex, low power, RS485/RS422 transceiver. The driver maintains a high output impedance over the entire common mode range when disabled or when the supply is removed. Excessive power dissipation caused by bus contention or a fault is prevented by current limiting all outputs and by thermal shutdown. Enhanced ESD protection allows this part to withstand ±15KV (human body model) on the transceiver interface pins without latchup or damage. It is used in applications such as low power RS485/RS422 transceiver, level translator, backplane transceiver.

• 0.25Mbps data rate, current limited drivers and thermal shutdown
• Power up/down glitch-free driver outputs, compatible with TIA/EIA-485-A specifications
• Receiver input resistance is 125Kohm typical at (TA = 25°C. VCC = 5V)
• Receiver input hysteresis is 25mV typical at (TA = 25°C. VCC = 5V)
• Supply current in shutdown mode is 15µA maximum
• Driver rise or fall time is 0.90µs typical at (RDIFF = 54 ohm, CL = 100pF)
• Logic input current is ±10µA maximum at (TA = 25°C. VCC = 5V)
• Receiver input current is 250µA maximum at (TA = 25°C. VCC = 5V)
• Operating temperature range from -40°C to 125°C, 10-lead plastic MSOP package
