Worth every penny
What do you mean, overbuilt?? So I may never come close to using the entire KILOWATT this thing can push, so what? This is the quietest, sweetest, 12-year-warrantiest PSU I've ever owned, and I'm never going back. Strongly recommend, buy the best, game easy!
Simply the best
This is imo the best PSU in the world, it has a very good efficiency being titanium, and its the highest offering on this series by Seasonic. The PSU is a jewel, very quiet on on hybrid mode, and its enough for moving an 5950x + RTX3090, and very likely a 6950x (170W TDP) + RTX4090 (400W+), so in essence if you are planning on building a new high end pc, this is as good as it gets.
The cat's meow
This beast puts out the power and manages it with supreme efficiency as well. Sexy as hell too but who's going to see it stuffed in the basement of your chassis, lol. At least it looks incredible coming out of the box! The power cables are exceptional coming with every single connection that you can possibly need. Oh, and the twelve-year warranty is incredible too! Keep up the great work Sea Sonic!
Versitile and strong
Stable power, Plent of cable options for the assortment of peripherals inside the case you can have, fanless operation is a nice to have. While under testing full load, my rig pulls about 600ish watts (5950x, 2080, Dual D5 pump and 7 fans, 5 on watercooling loop) and the fan only comes on once in a while which is really surprising. Only upgraded from the 8yr old 850Watt Platinum for this one due to the power draw peaking and leaving plenty of headroom for a new graphics card at somepoint. Will be using the 850 in a different system im building. I trust Seasonic power supplies, they have not failed me yet!
Really nice!
Bought this for a power-hungry video card that required 900+ watts. I was super lucky to get it on one day. By the time I finished checking out, everything over 1000watts was gone. Build: Asus ROG Crosshair VIII Hero, AMD Ryzen 9 5950x, PowerColor RX 6900 XT Red Devil OC, 64 mb Corsair DDR4 3200, 2 TB WD Black SN850 m.2 Pros: Modular PSU is always a plus. Cables were plenty long and easy to work with. Helped eliminate coil whine on video card. Fan runs super quiet with Hybrid mode "off". See cons for more. Looks nice and feels sturdy. Leans toward posh especially with the Crown Royal bag that it comes in. Shipped on time and arrived in excellent condition (thank you ). Seasonics website and support options seemed decent. Cons: Hybrid mode "on" tends to be louder than expedited. The fan turns on for a minute and then goes back to being silent. Occurs more while gamming. Hybrid mode "off" you can hear a very slight high pitch noise in a quiet room. Text on plug-in side was upside from images shown on website; weird. Price is about $75 too high IMO. But good luck finding one, so meh... Overall, I am happy with Seasonic and would recommend this PSU to anyone.
Ugh, died after less than a year of full use
I received this in January 2019, built a new computer, but did not start using the computer until September 2020. So, seven months later, I wake up one morning and find that the thing is DEAD and will not turn on. I had left the computer on overnight for the last two weeks, with nothing running. What a disappointment. New power supplies of this size are almost impossible to find at a reasonable price now.
