Description
The A4982SLPTR-T is a DMOS microstepping motor driver with built-in translator and overcurrent protection in 24 pin TSSOP package. It is designed to operate bipolar stepper motors in full, half, quarter and sixteenth step modes. The A4982 includes fixed off time current regulator which has ability to operate in slow or mixed decay modes. The translator is the key to easy implementation of A4982. One pulse on STEP input drives motor one microstep. There are no phase sequence tables, high frequency control lines or complex interfaces to program. The A4982 interface is an ideal fit for applications where complex microprocessor is unavailable or is overburdened. During stepping operation, the chopping control in the A4982 automatically selects current decay mode, slow or mixed.
