3 Legged Thing ROXIE Overview
The sleek Roxie-C from 3 Legged Thing is a dedicated L-bracket that is designed to perfectly fit the contours of the Canon EOS R5 and R6 camera bodies. Machined from a single block of aerospace-grade magnesium alloy, Roxie features a stainless steel Stagsden camera screw and sliding locator pin in the base for a secure fit, and a contoured lip is provided to prevent the camera body from twisting.
The copper-colored bracket is Arca-type compatible on both the horizontal and vertical axis and features a cut-out in the vertical aspect, which enables the rear screen of the R5 and R6 to be opened either upright or tilted for a choice of angles in use. The vertical aspect also includes two 1/4"-20 accessory mounts to allow a microphone, light, or other accessory to be easily attached. The open framework design allows access to all key functions of the R5 and R6 camera bodies, including opening side ports, switching batteries, changing lenses, and using the LCD screen. It incorporates an integrated hand strap loop and includes safety retaining hex screws to prevent accidental release.

3 Legged Thing ROXIE Reviews
What's not to like?
Previously, I owned a Canon 5D Mark IV with the Canon battery grip. I used the Really Right Stuff L-Bracket with that setup, which was pricey, but built like a tank and relatively heavy. One of the primary reasons I jumped to the Canon R5 was to save weight on the camera and lenses. Keeping with that philosophy, I've hesitated to go with the battery grip or RRS. I wanted to stick with a lighter and cheaper option. The 3 Legged Thing Roxie-C L-Bracket has filled the bill nicely. It's lightweight and does everything in a more compact package. Not that it's a huge feature, but I really like how the Copper color version I have sets itself off from the camera. This bracket can be mounted in two positions of the R5. I have it configured snug to the camera on both the bottom and side of the camera. You can reposition the bracket so the vertical piece extends out from the camera, allowing you to connect cables should you be tethering, etc, in the studio. I will say the articulating LCD of the R5 cannot be positioned completely vertically when flipped fully out from the camera, but I have not found this to be a limiting factor. All in all, I'm very happy with this bracket.
Solid L-Bracket for R6
I ordered this L-Bracket for my Canon EOS R6, and it came quickly from . Installation was easy using the included directions. The bracket felt very solid, and in using it extensively over a 3-week period it seemed quite secure and functionally fine. I would note 2 minor drawbacks; first, the bracket slightly occludes the cover for a remote release on the R6. The cover CAN be slid out of the way and the release inserted in the receptacle. It just wasn't quite the easy insertion that I had expected. Second, the L-Bracket came slightly loose after about 3 weeks of use. I noted this when adjusting the camera on the tripod. As I was used to this from a previous L-Bracket (different vendor) on my 6D, I was accustomed to fixing it. The key thing is to KEEP Roxie's tool that comes with the bracket in your camera bag. I simply grabbed their tool and tightened the nut back down. My previous use of US quarters as a field tool doesn't work with this bracket, but that's OK. All-in-all, an excellent bracket, especially for the price, and I would buy it again.
Major design flaws
I bought this because it was a 1-piece L-bracket with good reviews. Here's why I'm only giving it 3-stars: it appeared to slide out like the RRS for cable clearance-it does not. This is not a problem if you don't need to connect anything while in portrait orientation. Sliding out was not advertised, so it's my fault for assuming it would do this. What's problematic about this design however, is that there is no channel to route a cable even if you use low-profile cables with L connectors (I have to do this using my EOS R with the RRS L-bracket). Worse however is that the bracket is not at all sturdy if you only clamp down on the top part of the screen cut-out section in portrait orientation, if you need to do so for cable-clearance purposes. The camera literally bounces as if on a spring. It's fine if you clamp down to the shorter bottom portion (or of course the whole area, spanning the screen cut-out), but this is a tiny portion of the bracket and does not inspire the most confidence. For my needs, I would not buy this again. I would choose the Really Right Stuff, despite the significantly higher cost. It's what I use with my EOS R and it's rock-solid.
Great fit for the R6
Fits the R6 perfectly. Very nicely machined and not obtrusive. I can access my camera connections and tilt out the screen if needed. Would definitely recommend.
Not the quality I was expecting
I have a bracket from 3 legged thing for my other cannon camera and love it. This one isn't great. When you switch to vertical, there is some give. The camera ends up sagging down a few degrees, which makes vertical composition a pain. I have everything tightened, just seems a design flaw.
It fits the R5/R6 perfectly
At a great price, excellent quality. The locator pin secures the camera just perfect. The two color scheme is a bonus to identify cameras when you own more than one. I have used L brackets for many years and this brand is a winner.
Does not work with Peak Design Travel Tripod
Bought this for my R6 to use on a photo workshop in Texas. Surprised to find this would not mount on a Peak Design Travel Tripod as the metal is too thick. It could be mounted on other tripods so an ok L-Bracket for someone else. Wish I could return it but not eligible under terms. Not happy.
Great tool!
This makes it easy to change from landscape to portrait and back without having to worry about too much weight on one side of your tripod. Due to ease and speed of changing, I'm able to get different perspectives when photographing.
