The device performs ADC conversions of the differential cell voltages and current, as well as battery coulomb counting and battery temperature measurements. The information is transmitted to MCU using one of the microcontroller interfaces: serial peripheral interface (SPI) or isolated daisy chain communication interface [also referred as transformer physical layer (TPL)] which supports both capacitive and inductive isolation between nodes of the IC.
