It is suitable for high speed, 50Mbps, bidirectional data communication on multipoint bus transmission lines. It features a 1\/4 unit load input impedance that allows up to 128 transceivers on a bus. It offers a low 500Kbps data rate that is suitable for operation over long cable runs. Excessive power dissipation caused by bus contention or by output shorting is prevented by a thermal shutdown circuit.
