This low cost sensor features an accuracy of Â±2Â°C from 0Â°C to 70Â°C while consuming typical 6ÂµA of operating current. The MCP9700A does not require an additional signal conditioning circuit. The biasing circuit development overhead for thermistor solutions can be avoided by implementing this low cost device. The voltage output pin (VOUT) can be directly connected to ADC input of microcontroller. The MCP9700A provides low cost solution for applications that require measurement of relative change of temperature. It is immune to effects of parasitic capacitance and can drive large capacitive loads.
