It is configured as a 2 transmitter\/2 receiver RS232 interface and a single half-duplex RS485\/RS422 transceiver simultaneously. It features enhanced electrostatic discharge (ESD) protection. The transmitter outputs and receiver inputs are protected to Â±15KV using the Human Body Model. This device incorporate a low dropout transmitter output stage and an onboard dual charge pump to allow RS232 and RS485\/RS422 compliant performance from a +3V to +5.5V supply. It also feature pin selectable transmitter slew rates for RS232 and RS485\/RS422 modes. Slew rate limiting minimizes EMI and reduces reflections caused by improperly terminated cables allowing error free data transmission up to 250Kbps.
