Kondor Blue KB-SFX3-CO Overview
Protect and mount a variety of accessories onto your Sony FX3 camera while still keeping your camera small and lightweight with this Kondor Blue Sony FX3 Cage in a space gray finish. The cage provides protection for your camera from the rigors of the production day, as well as multiple accessory mounting points, including 1/4"-20 and 3/8"-16 with ARRI-style anti-twist divots. NATO rails are built into the removable side pieces of the cage, and the NATO rail on top of the cage can be removed, allowing you to use the Sony FX3 XLR top handle (not included).
In addition to the removable top NATO rail, the top of the cage features a cold shoe with a safety pin arrangement designed to prevent your cold shoe-mounted accessory from accidentally falling out. The bottom of the cage features a raised front that helps keep your camera from twisting in the cage, and an integrated Arca-Swiss plate makes it easy to mount your camera/cage directly on a tripod head with an Arca-Swiss QR mechanism.

Slick, nice weight, lots of use
Well-built piece of gear from KB. It's not the type of cage you can quickly apply or remove. There 4 pieces and some very thin screws to deal with. But if you know what you're shooting, you can plan ahead and either have it on or off. I use this with the KB handle on top and the AB Titon base battery underneath. The result is a nice compact rig with very nice weight for handheld shots on the go. I use it on practically all my shoots except for when I'm using a gimbal. Unfortunately the plate on the bottom is not compatible with my Ronin SC2 gimbal so it comes off anytime I plan to use the gimbal. Otherwise it's a solid cage. The HDMI lock on the cage works fine. You just have to have the HDMI cover on the Fx3 open when you install the cage. Keeps the cable in place perfect.
Received A Used Item
I received an item that clearly had scratches and paint chips. I sent a picture to Kondor Blue and they agreed that the item had been previously used.
Nice cage, not for Gimbal Use
I have to say this is a nice cage. It's light and does what I need it to do. There are a couple issues that come with it. The HDMI door has to be removed off the camera in order to use the HDMI lock. The biggest issue I have with this is the built in plate on the bottom. I purchased this because of its built in plate and the fact that it slides into a gimbal from the left instead of the right like some other brands. However... Even though it is the same type of plate as the mount on the Ronin RS2, You can not use it on the RS2. The plate is too loose and will not lock in place. Sadly, the reason I bought this rig and can't even use it for that. The attached image shows that the lock does not reach the plate when it is engaged. Also, the bottom of the plate is not flat so you can't even mount another plate to the bottom of it. Two huge flaws that make me wonder if I will really get my money's worth out of it.
