B&H has put together this PortaBright Daylight LED Battery-Powered Monolight Display Kit to provide image makers with a core kit that features AC or battery power options they can take on the road. The kit includes a PortaBright Daylight LED Battery-Powered Monolight with a reflector, battery, battery charger, AC adapter, tungsten filter, 9.5' air-cushioned light stand, and a padded carry case with shoulder strap. A 24 x 32" Compact Softbox is also included for all-around use such as product or portrait work.

Genaray PortaBright Daylight LED Battery Powered Monolight

Adopting a familiar, easy-to-use form factor, the PortaBright Daylight LED Battery Powered Monolight from Genaray is a compact light source with a 5600K color balance that blends seamlessly with ambient light on location or with other daylight fixtures. For settings dominated by tungsten lights, Genaray includes an amber conversion filter. The light also features 0 to 100% flicker-free dimming but regardless of which power level you've chosen, color rendition is faithful and accurate as indicated by its high TLCI rating of 96.7.

One of the PortaBright's outstanding benefits is its power options. The light runs on an integrated lithium-ion battery when in the field or when mains power is unavailable. For worldwide use, it will also run on its included 100-240 VAC adapter. For longer shoots, extra Genaray MONOBATT batteries will provide the juice to keep you going. The light has a wide beam spread of 120 degrees that can be narrowed to 45 degrees with the included reflector and has a Bowens front accessory mount that not only accepts Genaray modifiers but also those of the many manufacturers that employ this popular mount. The light's 5/8" receiver also has an umbrella receptacle for further modifier compatibility. Another advantage is the PortaBright's powerful, COB LED that provides soft, circular edges, with the bonus of round, natural-looking catchlights reflected in the eyes of your subjects. A well-known benefit of using LEDs are their very low, negligible heat. The PortaBright draws just 100W, allowing close-up shooting without discomforting the talent with the bonus of a fast return on investment thanks to minimal energy use.

In addition to all of the features above, the PortaBright extends control options. The fixture has a built-in 16-channel, 5-group receiver, and while you can adjust power levels locally on the fixture, you can also make them wirelessly at distances up to 100' with separate purchase of a remote transmitter - a very valuable asset when lights are hung overhead or mounted in out-of-the-way places.

Bright, Dimmable Daylight-Balanced Light The PortaBright's COB LED outputs plenty of light - more than 10,000 lux and is dimmable from 0 to 100% in 10% increments. Its 5600K daylight-balanced output allows it to be integrated seamlessly into ambient light on location or with other daylight fixtures. For situations dominated by tungsten fixtures, Genaray includes an amber conversion filter. Battery and AC Power Options The PortaBright runs on a removable, rechargeable lithium-ion battery. For longer shoots, extra Genaray MONOBATT batteries will provide the juice to keep you going. When mains power is available, the MonoBright is also ready for worldwide use via the included 100 to 240 VAC adapter. Optional Remote Control The PortaBright has a built-in 2.4 GHz, 16-channel radio receiver. Separate purchase of a remote transmitter will allow you to make light intensity adjustments at distances up to 100' away. Flicker-Free Color Accuracy The light's high TLCI rating of 96.7 is an indicator of accuracy in the rendering of color. It's also flicker-free at any power level, eliminating "strobing" that can ruin a shoot. Circular Chip-on-Board (COB) LED Unlike rectangular panels, the PortaBright's LED provides soft, circular edges, and reflect round, natural-looking catchlights in the eyes of your subjects. The Impact 24 x 32" Softbox includes a Bowens-type speed ring, so that it is directly compatible with current Bowens and Impact monolights (except the 100EX).

When compared to larger softboxes, this size will provide a light quality which is more spectral, with a faster gradation from highlight to shadow areas. 24 x 32" is best-suited for a 1/2 length portrait of 1 or 2 people, or a product shot of 2 or 3 smaller-than-a-breadbox items.

The softbox features a beaded silver interior, and its front face can be removed for easy access to the light and the interior baffle from the front. Also, it provides the option of shooting without the front face for an increased output and more specular quality of light.

This Impact Heavy-Duty Air-Cushioned Light Stand is a black anodized aluminum support that rises to a height of 9.5' and folds down to 42" for storage and transport. The stand will handle up to 22 lb and is topped with a removable 5/8" spigot with 1/4"-20 and 3/8"-16 threads. It has a wide footprint of 52" for greater stability. Air cushioning gently lowers the light when making height adjustments to protect equipment and fingers.
