This charge pump voltage converter work by first accumulating charge in a bucket capacitor and then transfer it into a reservoir capacitor. It inverts, doubles, divides or multiplies positive input voltage. It is pin compatible with industry standard ICL7660 and LTC1044 devices. The MAX1044 has BOOST pin that raises oscillator frequency above audio band and reduces external capacitor size requirements. It operates from 1.5V to 10V with no external diode. The MAX1044 delivers 10mA with 0.5V output drop. The device combines low quiescent current and high efficiency. Oscillator control circuitry and four power MOSFET switches are included on-chip.
