OWC X12 Overview
Make video workflows fast, simple, and seamless with the ThunderBlade X12 96TB 12-Bay Thunderbolt 5 RAID Array from OWC. Designed to deliver larger storage capacities to massive projects and breakthrough speeds to streamline ingestion and backup times, the ThunderBlade X12 is also small enough to still be a shuttle drive. This RAID array features twelve NVMe PCIe 4.0 drive bays with an M.2 2280 form factor, each preinstalled with an 8TB OWC Aura Ultra IV SSD. Preconfigured in RAID 0 via a software controller, the ThunderBlade X12 also supports RAID 1, 4, 5, and 10, allowing you to choose between speed, data redundancy, or a combination of both. Operations are kept cool using the heat-dissipating and fanless aluminum enclosure.
Connectivity with your host system is established using an 80 Gb/s Thunderbolt 5 port which supports read and write speeds up to 6500 MB/s, while a second Thunderbolt 5 port may be used to daisy-chain up to 5 additional devices, including two 8K/120 Hz or three 4K/144 Hz displays. The ThunderBlade X12 is compatible with macOS 14 and 15, Windows 11, Linux, and Chrome.
